Unicorn’s U11s smash Prospect House Netball Tournament

After the boys securing first place and winning their football tournament last week, the U11 girls were determined to bring back gold for Unicorn too. We were up against some tough schools in our group and knew it wasn’t going to be easy.

Our first match was against Falcons where we were able to steal the lead with Polly scoring within the first 2 minutes. The girls grew with confidence which was evident in how they played the rest of this match; their passes were accurate and their footwork was near perfection, leading them to scoring a second goal winning their first match 2 – 0. Our second match was against Prospect House where we won 2 – 1. We then had to play against Prospect House’s second team which ended in a 1 – 1 draw. The girls then play The Hall, exerting some brilliant netball skills in all areas of the court. The girls won this game comfortably with a 4 – 1 result! Our last match was a nail biting one against Ibstock School with the ball being repeatedly passed from one end of the court to the other. Both teams struggled to get the ball in the net until the last 10 seconds of the game, when Polly shot the final and winning goal of the tournament! Well done girls, a fantastic start to the season.
